The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) is a command responsible for all special forces operations that respond to terrorism and threats to Canadians and Canadian interests around the world.

CSOR
CSOR is a battalion-sized, high-readiness special operations unit. By combining mobility and firepower with a host of special operations skills, they are capable of conducting and enabling a broad range of Special Forces missions.
When in ceremonial dress, CSOR members are characterized by their brown berets.

JTF 2
JTF 2 is an elite special operations force with the highest readiness and most precise combat unit in the country. In fact, they are considered to be one of the most elite forces of its kind in the world.
Serving alongside the other units of CANSOFCOM, they are primarily tasked with counter-terrorism operations, but also specializes in direct action, hostage rescue, personnel recovery, and foreign internal defense.
They work daily with Canadian security and intelligence organizations, and are closely allied with the very best special operations forces worldwide.
CJIRU
The CJIRU is another sub-unit of the CANSOFCOM and was created to provide timely and agile broad-based CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) support to the Government of Canada to prevent, control and mitigate CBRN threats to Canada.

The 427 SOAS is a tactical helicopter unit that provides aviation support to CANSOFCOM as part of high-readiness Special Operations Task Forces for domestic and international operations.
The helicopter used by this unit is the CH-146 Griffon.
